SPRING x TOKYO
3rd April 2015 to 12 April 2015
Day 6 of our Tokyo Trip, time flies when you are enjoying every moment. We booked our strawberry picking tour thru http://www.yokoso-japan.jp/en/ where they have many different tours you can choose from depending on what you are interested to do. We picked the Mt Fuji Spring Flowers with Strawberry Picking with Lunch Provided. We paid around $100/person for this tour.
The tour was a whole day trip, from 8am to 6pm. But a lot of the time was spent on the travelling to Mt Fuji area. It was totally worth it! You'll know why later.
We met the tour group at Shinjuku Washington Hotel, it's pretty easy to find as long as you have google maps.
DAY 6
Strawberry Picking Tour with Awesome Views & SNOW!
Our itinerary for the day
I didn't take note how long the journey was, but we just napped in the bus.
We first arrived at this winery.. early morning want to make us drunk huh. #tactic
I only love sweet wines, so all of them were really tasty. It's a pity we can't bring back to Singapore so many bottles....
We bought the peach wine to share and drink back at the apartment. It was sweet and had a nice scent to it. #thumbsup
After wine tasting, we took the bus again to travel to the strawberry farm!
The strawberry farms at Japan is different. I went to the one at Australia before, they were on a big open field and the strawberries were on the ground. But for Japan, the strawberries are grown off the grown, hanging like this.
They provided us with this tray and sweet milk sauce(?) It was for picking the strawberries then dipping it into the sauce. It was sooooo yummy. The strawberries were so sweet and juicy, every single one that we picked.
Once we were done, we head on to lunch! Lunch is provided in this tour, we had pork shabushabu with individual servings.
We got to a plum blossom farm, note that it's not cherry blossom. But it's so pretty still.
But because it was raining... we had to take photos and hold the umbrella at the same time. Looking abit ridiculous with the umbrella in the photo...
They also had a smoking corner with comfy cushions and shelter.
Then we head off to see the Mt Fuji Views.. halfway thru the ride in the bus.. we saw snow! Snow was in the woods.. such a pretty sight to see.. This is my virgin sight of snow. I was so excited to get down the bus to touch snow myself.
So we had 1.5hrs at this little village.. and amazingly it started snowing! It wasn't heavy snow, but it snowed!! I had tiny snow falling on my hair, my face, my clothes and I enjoyed every moment of it even though it was FREEZING.
Sometimes i can't believe we were just in long sleeves tops and a jacket over us.. It was -4 degrees at least.
A pity we couldn't capture the falling snow.. it was so pretty to see.
We were supposed to see Mt Fuji over here.. but because the sky was a little cloudy.. No Mt Fuji for us.
And we found Cherry Blossom Trees!!
My favorite shot of all... one side with the scenery, another with the cherry blossoms hanging over us.. #toopretty
Tried to take marco shots of the snowflake to see how the snowflake shapes like... Too bad my camera marco not strong enough.. D:
Vandalizing the snow with our names... LOL This is like what people will do on the beach with sand.. But let's try it with snow! Hahaha
Ended our great time experiencing the snow with a group picture.
I would personally recommend at least 1-2 days with a proper tour group if you are travelling free and easy. There are various pros and cons if it's your first time travelling to Japan. Some areas and activities, it's just best to have a tour guide with you (:
My rating for Yokoso Japan is 9/10!
Thanks to Mother Nature, I get to experience snow even though it's spring!
Back to town and we went to Harajuku for Neoprints! It damn funny how the machines edited and enlarged Vincent's eyes super big. They look like they are going to fall off.
Many years never edit neoprints, suddenly don't know how to. So I only did minimal editing worrying that I would destroy the picture.
Had some awesome takoyaki for dinner and went back home to rest for another long day on Day 7!
Next up: Our Day Trip to Hakone for Hot Springs!
