SPRING x TOKYO
3rd April 2015 to 12 April 2015
After the first 2 days of heavy walking in my slippers, my legs were really really starting to hurt. It was aching and was so tired. In Japan, you have to be prepared to walk. You will be doing a lot of walking from stations to trains to your destination etc.
In Day 3, i'm determined to get a good shoe for walking for the rest of the trip!
DAY 3
Shibuya & Harajuku
We started by taking a train to Shibuya, they have the very famous Shibuya Crossing. The place is filled with many many people and shopping centers.
Japanese Porridge for Breakfast. Super yummy, they added barley into the porridge together which kinda adds in more fragrance. Super healthy way to start the day.
Rating 8/10!
We didn't get the Suica Card. Instead we just bought standard tickets everyday to wherever we wanted to go. It makes us have a clear idea of which station we want to get down etc. Just in case we get lost...
*Plus point for Tokyo. EVERYONE we met and asked for directions were VERY VERY helpful. Some even walked us all the way to the destination, or even took out their own iphone to google map the direction for us. Arigato from the bottom of our hearts!
Their collagen drink was cheap, 250 yen a bottle. Bought for fun to drink. ><
Small drizzles throughout the day, couldn't get a good picture of the Shibuya Crossing thou.
Other than Ginza, Shibuya & Harajuku area have a lot of mega stores as well.
One of my favourite streets, Takeshita Street! Specifically came here 2 times this trip! Just take the Yamanote Line to Harajuku, get down and cross the road, very easily accessible.
We took Purikura, as known as Neoprints at this street, shopped at Daiso, ate their delicious freshly made crepes and tako yaki... Thinking about it makes me hungry already.
We tried to look for New Balance Store using google maps, but somehow we couldn't find our way. We gave up and took a cab which costs us 730 yen, around $8.30SGD for a 3 mins ride... But we managed to buy our shoes for comfy walking for the rest of the 7 days!
New Balance is cheaper in Japan, for around $30-$40. Vincent also bought 3 Onitsuka Tiger, Asics shoes from their mega stores. Each was $30-$40 cheaper than SG as well. I must say, the Japs really likes to wear sports shoes like Nike, NB, Adidas etc, you see most of the Japs wearing them!
*couple shoes very cheesy i know*
End of Day 3! I would say please make a trip down to Shibuya & Harajuku when you're in Tokyo!
XOXO, Celest
