My first thoughts when i first recieved this... "Coconut Oil? What can i do with this?? Put on hair will make it smelly anot?? Take and cook with my food? Sure it's edible??"

Personally, I have seen Youtubers raving about Coconut Oil for Hair Masking before, but the ones they had in their video are in a form of "wax-like" texture. Not really clear oil. You'll understand below.

So I thought, let's see what is this all about!

It came with some ideas of what I can do with this Coconut Oil.

Basically for cooking, it can be used as Cooking Oil, Replacement for Butter for Cookies, Smoothie Booster, Pan Frying, Popcorn Topping and much more.

I'm not really a cook, so I'm going to try out on my thirsty dehydrated skin!
Once i open the cap, i see these white milky stuffs floating inside the oil + i can really smell the coconut! But it's not smelly/turnoff! It's smelt like Coconut Icecream to me! Hehe

Found a dry patch on my knees...

I dipped my finger into the oil and to my surprise, it's quite watery and not as thick as the usual cooking oils we use!

Followed by applying and gently rubbing into my knees.

Not sure if you can see, but the skin looks like it's coated with a layer of protective oil to keep it moisturized.

Look how clear this is! Coconut Oil is an edible oil that is extracted from the meat of mature coconuts. They are organic and cold-pressed to make it perfect for cooking & beauty needs.

*Update:
I also tried this on my hair as an hair mask. I did not take any photos for this.
I think was greedy and overdone it, I had "wet-looking" hair for the next day on my roots.
I have to wash off the "wet-look" with a good long hair wash.

My advice is that only apply the coconut oil on the ends of your hair. And a little goes a long way!
Definitely it delivers what it said it would do! It moisturized and made my hair look so healthy.

Firstly, I want to say that I'm very blessed and lucky to be able to get this baby on hand! #verythankful. I have a long post up ahead, but please bear with me as I have something really awesome at the end!

DHL was the delivery engaged and best thing is I get to choose my own delivery date and timeslot. Which is perfect for people who are always out and don't have people at home to collect the parcel. To my surprise, the parcel had some weight, (i thought earpiece very light only) But because of the very sturdy packaging from Sudio & all items were nicely bubble-wrapped.. it increased the weight of it. *thumbsup* 

And just look how pretty and sleek the packaging is. It felt like Christmas to me.

 I had a super hard time deciding between pink or white... it was a very very very tough choice for me. But i went with white in the end so it's easier to match my outfits.

I also want to emphasize on the mobility of this. 2 major plus points I really like, firstly it's good for running/sports, next it's good to use for travelling.

This earphones really don't fall off!! It stayed onto my earholes very securely and tightly no matter how I shook my head. I used it during my gym days on the treadmill and it did not fall off either!

As for travelling, you know when you want to get up of your seat to use the toilet in the plane? And all the wires just comes tangling and argh so fustrating? With this baby, all these is no longer an issue! I don't have to fuss about "argh i have to coil up this wires before I move on to the next stop etc", I just have them hanging on my neck!

As much as we don't want to admit it, the below statement may actually become true.

With the increase of intelligent humans on the planet, our technology is ever-changing and growing much faster than it has ever been. I have consolidated 5 facts about technology today that was interesting to me from various sites. Hope you'll enjoy!

#1 Fact

If the Internet is down, work is over for today.

I have worked in places where the internet goes down, due to the ISP eg: Singtel, Starhub etc, and the work basically stops. We have no internet to send emails, no internet to receive emails, no internet to surf the web for research purposes. Basically everything stops. I had a friend who was made to go home at 2pm and OT the following day to pay back the time lost... This shows how much businesses actually depend on the internet for business to run.

Let's put businesses aside, even for us. We need the internet for our whatsapp, facebook, snapchat, instagram, pokemon go.... If internet is down... that's the end.

This is for me. I CANNOT live without my phone. Even if my phone is dead for 30 minutes, I feel so uncomfortable...  I need my phone for my emails, my communication during work and after work. I need my phone for my social platforms, reading up the news, browsing thru the web. Now with Pokemon Go, I can't help it but not be in the app when i'm walking.

Social Media? A hackers' favorite target
Well we are on Facebook also EVERYDAY. We are very likely to click on links that our friends share with us, which is what hackers use to their advantage. Below are some of the things they'll do.

1. Like-Jacking
The hackers post fake facebook "like" buttons to webpages you go. Users who clicks the "don't like the page", you have just initiated the download of the malware.

2. Link-Jacking
The hackers uses a one website link to redirect you to another website that is malware infested that hides drive-by downloads and other virus. You may see "www.helloimlegit.com" but when you click that link, you are redirected to "www.ohnoimfullofvirus.com"

3. Phishing

I actually see this alot myself. The hackers attempts to get some sensitive information like username, password, credit card details $$ by disguising itself to look like a trustworthy site like facebook/twitter.

Always be careful and wary guys!

#5 Fact

Virtual Reality is used in various industries

I've tried on a VR once at Bugis+ for a $10 ride. It was simulating a roller coaster ride with the use of the VR and seat movements. 

VR can be used in many different industries, say medical students who are trainees can make use of VR to practice on surgery. VR can be a more interactive learning experience for younger kids for field trip to the moon, or world landmarks, anything is possible. The gaming industries would be one of the biggest hit in terms of VR. 

To end this off, all I can say it that we are very different from our previous generation.

I've been a fan of taobao since many year ago, I can't recall when I started. I knew about 65daigou few years back, but I didn't have much trust in them... but i still wanted to buy from Taobao cause it's so cheap right? *65daigou have been renamed to EzBuy recently*

But I backside itchy, I went to place an order with a Taobao Shop, let's call it ABC Shop, directly.... And made payment with my paypal... BUT, after like 1 week, ABC Shop told me that the address is provided is not valid for shipping... So apparently the shipping address was my home address. And they don't ship to Singapore directly!! 

I was at a lost, so I turned to EzBuy for help. They had this service called Ship-For-Me and i just have to pay a minimum sum for the agent fee and the shipping fees. What impressed me is that  EzBuy actually checked the goods for me, make sure it is in a good condition, took a picture and asked if the good is what I ordered! Which is damn cool la. I ordered a 22" luggage for hand carry purposes when I travel for only $46.10. I read through the taobao shop reviews from other customers, most of them were good reviews and thus I decided to buy from this shop.

Most importantly is not just cheap, but also the reviews in the taobao shop. Those with real life pictures in the reviews are more credible. I usually don't mind paying a little more for that quality.

Fighting the Eczema Monster! - Part 2

Update as of 30th June

(My skin before I went BKK)

So i tried out creams given by the polyclinic, hydroderm + aquaeous cream. After a short 2 weeks, I've finished up the creams and i'm back to square one again. I'm not sure if I need a higher dosage? Or I need to use those creams longer? 

I went for my short trip in BKK and came back with even more inflamed skin ): Maybe it's because of the bad air there? (more dust etc...)

I'm having flakes all over the place. I look like i have dandruff on my face.

It's super itchy throughout the day and just itchy. So when itchy, I just scratch. Scratch first, regret later...

This is my skin when I first woke up, super red and patchy already.. I feel so much tightness in my skin... It's a horrible feeling.

I can't take it anymore and went to walk-in into NSC today. I can no longer wait until the August's Appt for subsidized rates. Just fuck it and pay the non-subsidized rates. Anything for my skin to heal man.

Doctor was ok? Not very detailed, but not very "sui bian" also. 

I told her i was using cetaphil for bathing already. So she said I can stick with that. 

I requested for an allergy/patch test, but she does not recommend at this stage. For me, I just want to know what trigger my eczema flare up.. But she mentioned that I will be diagnosed that I MIGHT be allergic to ABCDEFG items, it's not confirmed and i believe for sensitive skin people. Most of us are sensitive to sweat, dust, dirt, something like that? 

She suggested that I visit her 1 month later for a follow-up again. Maybe i can request for a test again if my skin is not healing? hehe

Firstly, I am given some anti-itch medicine.. I took the night one 25mg once i reach home from the doctor, but don't feel sleepy thou. And still kinda itchy...

Next, this are creams that can be bought in retail stores like guardian and watsons. 

Bioderma to apply on my arms and legs. 

Physiogel is prescribed to be applied on my skin. I have been doing alot of googling and reading forums on the AI Creams. Some rave, some nahhh.. I guess i have to try it out to know. 

Have applied a layer over my skin after the anti-itch medicine. It's a little oily, but my flakes are still here.... I hope the flakes go away asap.

This is the stronger anti-itch (tropical steroid) that I was given. Hope this does not thin my skin thou! But the application of this cream is easy and not painful to my skin. It glides on easily too.

Will update if I have any updates! 

I'm on a journey to an itch free life!!!!!!

Fighting the Eczema Monster!

#1st Eczema Breakout

I remembered when I was in Secondary 4(?), which was around 6 years ago. 

I had an extreme eczema breakout... which was HORRIBLE. I had flakes all over my face & neck, it was itchy, red, patchy & very irritated. I'm sorry I didn't have photos of that as I totally avoided taking pictures during that period of time.

I used a XXXX's brand $2 mask, if i didn't remember wrongly, it was a lavender scented mask. 

It stung a little. But I didn't know that was a sign that it's not suitable. I thought it was the mask doing it's magic. So I tolerated all the stings and left it on my face for 20 good minutes.

The next moment when i removed it, my whole face was red & super irritated. I thought it will cool down after i wash my face. But it didn't work at all. The next day, it became really really really dry. Like Sahara dessert, my skin was rough like sandpaper. If i flicked my neck, i can see dry skin flying out.... My clothes had little white dry skin all over, people thought I had dandruff.... -.-

#1st Eczema Breakout Solution

My friend recommended me their previous skin doctor at Parkway. I went there, spend $300+ to get pills and creams. My skin slowly improved... but once my pills ran out. The eczema came back again. I went back to the Doctor for review again, spent another $400+ on more pills and creams. Same thing happened, worked at first, then it came back again. I told myself i'm not going back to spend more money. 

My dad got some $12 cream, Triderm from a clinic he goes. And i applied it on my affected skin. It worked and cured everything! At $12..... I felt stupid spending $700+ at the clinic.

My skin has been fine since then, but once in a while i still get mild eczema breakout on my arms & legs. I will apply Triderm and they'll recover in 2 days. 

#2nd Eczema Breakout

Fast forward to around 6 months ago? I started having more frequent eczema breakouts, usually during my time of the month. But they recover in about a week.

As of now, my current skin situation have not improved for almost 2 months? I haven't been keep track. It will be nice and smooth for 2 days, then breakout again for another 4 days. It's inconsistent. 

I gave up and decided to turn to the doctor. I researched a lot on eczema, and some sites stated that eczema can be triggered by various factors. BUT (!!) I have no idea what triggered my eczema. 

I went to the polyclinic to get a referral letter to national skin center (NSC). 

And guess what? I told the doctor that i've used Triderm on my face, and she was like scolding me. 

"No No No! Don't apply Triderm on your face! It has alot of side effects and makes your skin worst!!"

Okay, now i know why my skin isn't healing. -.-

I have been using Triderm for YEARS... I understand that Triderm is a "steroid" medicine, and using it too much will thin my skin. So I seldom use them, unless i'm desperate. 

So apparently, years of accumulation has thinned my skin alot. Making it more vulnerable, bleed easily, and just much weaker ):

My appointment to NSC is 8 Aug.. which is 2 months later. (don't know if my skin can make it) I will try out the creams that Polyclinic gave me first, hopefully it will solve my eczema by August. I will still go ahead to NSC for a consultation and arrange for a prick/patch test to know what the hell i'm allergic to that triggered my eczema.

So now, no makeup for me... (man its tough)
